Molly Harrison was a curator at the museum from 1946 to 1969, and a trailblazer in modern museum education. An author of multiple children's and adult books, Molly also wrote extensively advocating for museums as fully accessible spaces to learn - for both children and adults. Often derided as a ‘mere school teacher’, over 30 years she pioneered what we now take for granted as museum education.
While Molly herself isn’t the direct model for our bar and kitchen, her dynamic spirit inspires us. Our menu, interior design and graffiti by @.EPOD embodies her boldness, warmth, and creativity, creating a space that’s vibrant, welcoming, and full of life.
The Museum of the Home, formerly the Geffrye Museum, is a free museum in the 18th-century Grade I-listed former almshouses on Kingsland Road in Hoxton, London.
Molly’s has returned to Museum of the Home with a fresh new look, dynamic team, and exciting menu.
